5-day stay in Barcelona
Five days allow us to go beyond the classics. We take the time to explore the neighborhoods, taste the Catalan gastronomy and soak up the Mediterranean lifestyle.
Day 1 – The soul of the old town
Start with a walk through the Barri Gòtic, a labyrinth of ancient alleys where the history and charm of Barcelona are concentrated.
Visit the Cathedral, the Plaça Sant Jaume, then the Plaça del Rei, heart of the old Catalan royal power.
Then cross to the Born district, more bohemian, with its independent shops and its lively atmosphere.
Do not miss the church of Santa Maria del Mar, a Gothic masterpiece with touching sobriety.
In the evening, dine in a tapas restaurant in the neighborhood or enjoy a glass of cava in a typical bodega.
Day 2 – The wonders of Gaudí
The day is dedicated to Catalan modernism. Start with the Sagrada Família, an unmissable masterpiece, then stroll along Passeig de Gràcia.
Visit Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, two houses that show Gaudí’s creativity and visionary madness.
In the afternoon, head to Parc Güell: its colors, its organic shapes and its view of the city sum up the whole spirit of Barcelona.
For dinner, explore the popular and friendly Gràcia district, where you will find many tapas bars and Catalan restaurants.
Day 3 – Montjuïc, museums and panoramas
Go up to Montjuïc by cable car or funicular. This district perched on the hill offers a multitude of discoveries: the castle of Montjuïc, the botanical gardens, and the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) with its impressive collection.
The view of the sea and the port is magnificent.
Then go down to Poble-sec, a neighborhood in full transformation, known for its quiet alleys and authentic tapas bars.
In the evening, attend the Magic Fountains show, an always magical classic.
Day 4 – The sea and the flavors
Start your day at the Barceloneta: a walk by the beach, a coffee on the sand and why not a swim.
Then head to the Port Vell and its aquarium, or stroll through the shops of the Maremagnum.
At noon, have lunch with a paella in a seaside restaurant.
In the afternoon, stroll through El Born for a little shopping and visit the Picasso Museum, one of the richest in the world during the artist’s youth.
In the evening, discover the nightlife of Raval or attend a flamenco show at Tablao Cordobés.
Day 5 – Local neighborhoods and Catalan atmosphere
For your last day, discover the more local Barcelona.
Start with Sant Antoni, a dynamic area with its large covered market and trendy cafes.
Then explore Poblenou, between street art, artists’ studios and quiet beaches.
This is where you will see the Barcelona of everyday life, far from the tourist circuits.
Have lunch in a modern Catalan restaurant, then take a last walk by the sea before leaving.
Barcelona is lived as much as it is visited: each street corner has its history, each square its atmosphere. And we always leave with the desire to come back.
